Andalucía is the warm and sunny land of Spanish fiestas, where flamboyant flamenco dancers swish their skirts to troubadours, and where an intriguing blend of historical Christian and Muslim influences are demonstrated in the region's art, architecture and food - with delightful outcomes.
Explore three parts of Andalucía over six memorable days as part of an intimate tour group with no more than eight guests. You'll start in beautiful Seville, home of bitter oranges, but so much more besides. You'll spend three nights absorbing the energy of this city, admiring resplendent architecture that tells stories of its past, then experiencing the Seville of here-and-now in the buzzy tapas bars. An authentic and passionate flamenco performance draws you further into this spellbinding dance with every rhythmic stamp.
It's Córdoba next, famous for the fine arches in the Mezquita, the town's architectural showstopper. You'll witness another Andalucían spectacle tonight - an impressive show where horses dance in a legendary Spanish tradition.
Your final stop is Ronda, a town perched in an extraordinary position high above a gorge. There are stories and legends to hear about this fascinating place, but you'll also get to know modern-day Ronda as you learn how to cook local dishes in an open-air kitchen. There's a wine tasting too, where you'll sample the excellent wines produced in the warm climes of southern Spain.
Throughout the trip, you'll stay in comfortable hotels, each well-positioned for exploring. The transfers between locations are taken care of, including your transfers to and from Seville airport.
On arrival in Seville, you'll transfer to your hotel. You'll stay for two nights at a hotel in the heart of the city, making explorations on foot easy.
Spend the rest of the day finding your bearings and exploring this beautiful city. Seek out a tapas bar to experience the energy and flavours Seville is renowned for.
The day is yours to explore Seville at your own pace. You could work outwards from the world's largest Gothic cathedral that towers over the heart of the city, and visit the beautiful architecture of the Alcázar, Seville's royal palace. Or head to the flamboyant Plaza de España - designed with such opulence and flair, it's well worth a visit. Before dinner, gather with your group for an hour-long flamenco show, where you'll be struck by the intensity and drama of this age-old art.
You travel to Córdoba today, around a 90-minute drive away. You'll have the opportunity to venture inside the town's most famous landmark - the beautiful and impressive Mezquita, a historic mosque. Climb the bell tower for sweeping views over the town and appreciate the town's beauty from above. The afternoon is yours to spend at your own pace, weaving through the lanes of the medieval city, coming across hidden, orange-scented plazas as you go. Later, watch the dramatic spectacle of one of Córdoba's main attractions, an Andalucían horse dancing show.
You'll be taken south today, on a 2.5-hour transfer to Ronda. This small Spanish town is perched precariously on a clifftop above El Tajo gorge. Explore the town before heading to the region's vineyards for a wine tasting and cooking class at an organic winery. The vineyard produces almost 50,000 bottles of wine a year, focussing particularly on grenache and cabernet sauvignon varieties.. You'll also learn to cook a local speciality, perhaps Arroz Campero, a country-style rice with chicken and vegetables, preparing the dish before a vineyard tour, the returning to sample your creation.
Enjoy a delicious Spanish breakfast in Ronda before a two-hour transfer takes you back to Seville where you will spend your final evening.
