The magnificent Mekong river, one of the longest rivers in Asia, winds gracefully past lush green paddy fields and tiny fishermen's villages in Vietnam and along to Cambodia's elaborate temples through its fascinating capital, Phnom Penh.
This excellent 17-day adventure includes a seven-night cruise along the Mekong in a Luxury Balcony suite aboard the Mekong Jewel, a luxurious and ornately-decorated ship. Today, you'll witness the hustle and bustle of delta river life as the local traders take their produce to market. After breakfast, you'll board a traditional sampan(wooden river boat) and explore the narrow canals and backwaters of this famed region.
There's an included excursion to the untouched island of Tien Loi, where you can see how local farmers make rooster cages, decorate bonsais in their yards and more.
Upon arrival at Vinh Long, your sampans will bring you to a traditional rice factory. This evening, back on board, you'll dine on an authentic Vietnamese meal.
