Hotel Review
Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa, Warminster, Wiltshire
This compact Georgian country house has 27 acres of grounds that include neolithic long barrows, a private stretch of river and an Elemis spa. Sitting outside Warminster, the hotel has experienced new owners who have big plans for it. The hotel suits travellers on their way to the coast as well as families seeking spacious, duplex accommodation and couples wanting a country break. The spa is another big draw and the outdoor pool and hot tub are worthy of a dip at any time of year. The interiors have a quirky style and every bedroom is being refurbished. The restaurant's food is highly enjoyable and breakfasts are long and lazy.

Style & Character
The hotel suits everyone from spa bunnies to weekenders, while also being a great choice for families who want private living space with hotel facilities adjacent. We loved the intriguing knick knacks and textile art, from the framed collection of bejewelled purses to the giant, modernist vases.
Service & Facilities
The cocktails - which included a perfectly blended blackberry and rosemary mojito - were fun to relax with beside the fire.

Food & Drink
We loved the mackerel starter, with the fish lying on a bed of crunchy fennel in a honey soy sauce. Our favourite dish was tender guinea fowl served in a rich, black olive sauce and sprouts. It felt like a warm hug on a cold day.
