Hotel Review
King John Inn, Salisbury, Wiltshire
This inn may be popular with shooting parties and the country set but it also offers a stylish bolthole for anyone looking for excellent food in a relaxing ambience. Gun-dog ceramics, nature prints, antiques and forest green plaid cushions amplify the country heritage theme. Lovely little touches in the eight bedrooms add to the homely feel - think a plaid-covered hot water bottle to cosy up to on cold nights. An eclectic menu in the two AA Rosette-awarded restaurant offers everything from haunch of venison and local Rushmore partridge Kiev to turbot with clams and haddock and chips. Your four-legged friend is welcome here too with bowls and beds provided on request. Insured gun cabinets are available for shooting parties.
