Hotel Review
Miramonte Resort, Palm Springs, USA
Set at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains, Miramonte Resort lies in the north of Indian Wells and is quickly reached speeding along Route 111. Dating from 1960, it is part of a large collection of hotels and resorts across the US run by Colorado-based Coral Hospitality. This is one of the more subdued places to stay in Greater Palm Springs and guests appreciate its unpretentious style and 11 acres of well-kept gardens filled with citrus trees, flowers and colourful modern sculptures. The design follows a Mediterranean theme including a sizeable Tuscan-style spa and the Citrus & Palm restaurant offering dishes such as saltimbocca and vegetable tagine. With golf, tennis and a water park close by, this is a well-run and easygoing base for exploring the Coachella Valley.

Dine al fresco under olive trees on a warm evening, as the firepits blaze and the night sky twinkles with stars. We loved the sharing plate of perfectly-grilled lamb lollipops accompanied by a feta-studded Mediterranean salad and a glass of Coppola pinot noir.
Citrus & Palm: terrace restaurant, SoCal cuisine. Dishes include white fish saltimbocca and bone-in pork chop. All-day dining, open daily.
