Hotel Review
Kimpton The Rowan, Palm Springs, USA
There are Kimpton hotels in over 55 cities around the world and fans of the popular brand won't be disappointed by this standout example. Opened in 2017, it is an attractive, new-build, four-star property with polished design, switched-on staff and a dominant position in the heart of Palm Springs. Rising to seven storeys with large windows and a rooftop pool, the hotel offers terrific views over the city and to the nearby San Jacinto Mountains. The carefully-composed bedrooms are both sophisticated and comfortable while the dining venues showcase the best of Californian wine and produce. At times Palm Springs can feel like a distant suburb of Los Angeles, and the Kimpton Rowan would not be out of place in West Hollywood or Santa Monica.

Rooms
There's a choice of Downtown or Mountain View rooms - both are great but the latter are sunnier, and the higher you go the better. We loved the light-hearted touches, such as a bolster on the bed depicting a lion leading a camel. Then there's the strange, green, humped quadruped placed in the closet with the sole purpose of making you smile.
