Hotel Review
The Whitby Hotel, New York, USA
Opened in 2017, this funky 16-floor hotel is housed in a prominent Upper Midtown Manhattan building near Fifth Avenue with a limestone façade and chequered windows. Very colourful fabrics and wallpapers ramp up the lively, eclectic décor along with a host of contemporary artworks and sculptures. Just a couple of blocks from Central Park it has a buzzing restaurant and bar, with a lovely orangery and outdoor terrace beyond. It has a well-equipped gym and a cinema with Sunday screenings, a well-stocked library with comfy sofas and an honesty bar. The 86 guest rooms and suites are equally sumptuous, and each is individually designed, some with terraces.
