WHAT WE LOVE...
This luxurious 287-room Downtown Manhattan hotel housed in an historic late-19th century building (and early New York skyscraper) is located in the financial district near Wall Street and the Brooklyn Bridge. Vivacious contemporary design runs right through it, not least its stunning nine-floor atrium. With a fantastic mix of antique pieces and many modern splashes, it boasts two excellent restaurants - a French-style bistro and one helmed by celebrated New York chef Tom Colicchio. There's a great bar too. Though there's no spa, in-room treatments are available and there's a well-appointed gym. Guest rooms are sleek and supremely comfortable and there's a host of subway lines nearby to whisk you to the outer corners of the city.

The nearby transport connections are great, with seven subway lines within a five-minute walk.
In downtown Manhattan, you're a short walk from the Brooklyn Bridge, One World Observatory and September 11 Memorial & Musuem.

The Bar Room has funky, colourful, glitzy décor. The Spanish octopus with 'nduja, spring garlic and soubise at Temple Court is decidedly different.
The Bar Room: lounge dining, weekend brunch and jazz music. Open daily for breakfast and dinner, Mon-Fri for lunch.
Temple Court: fine dining restaurant, ornate décor. Open Tue-Sat for dinner. Three-course menu, $60.
Le Gratin: French bistro, casual dining. Open Mon-Fri for lunch, daily for dinner.
