Hotel Review
Hurtwood Hotel, Peaslake, Surrey
This boutique hotel is as charming as the quintessentially English village in which it lies. Each of the 13 bedrooms has been tastefully furbished to a high standard, their nature-themed cushions, tumblers and pictures on the walls providing a cosy home-from-home feel. It's a great base for exploring the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and watching the comings and goings of this picturesque sleepy village, often frequented by groups of cyclists and the horse riders particularly at weekends. There's no restaurant as such, although a splendid cooked breakfast is served, and the adjoining Hurtwood Inn, a separate business, serves top-notch Italian cuisine and innovative dishes courtesy of head chef Silvano Mazzoli.
