Hotel Review
Serras Hotel, Barcelona, Spain
This modern 30-room boutique hotel has only been running since 2015 but has been popular ever since due to its great location in the Gothic Quarter and by the marina, Port Vell. Populated throughout with designer furnishings, its two restaurants are overseen by a Michelin star chef and its choice of bars include one on the rooftop with an enticing dip pool. The comfortable guest rooms are homely and contemporarily styled. There's a fitness centre with LifeFitness equipment, and whilst there's no spa, treatments can be arranged in your room. The building dates from 1846 and Picasso's first art studio was in this building, no less.

Style & Character
The hotel largely attracts a quite trendy set of younger to middle-aged guests. There's a quiet corner devoted to Picasso, with books on the artist, as he had a studio in the building when he was young.
