Hotel Review
Alexandra Barcelona Hotel, Barcelona, Spain
This 116-room hotel is part of Hilton's upmarket Curio Collection and boasts plenty of character. It has a great location in one of Barcelona's best neighbourhoods, Eixample, which is bursting with restaurants, bars, cafés and the resulting vibrant nightlife, and scores of good shops for the daytime. It is within walking distance of many of the city's top sights and public transport options are nearby to whisk you to the rest of the city. Both public areas and guest rooms are on the whole stylish and characterful, and there's a lovely leafy outdoor patio with a pool, great bar and restaurant options, a fitness room, sauna and good business facilities.

Food & Drink
Solomillo's unusual approach is heaven for meat eaters. It offers a simple formula: meat by weight. Guests choose everything - even the breed, temperature, cut, sauce and garnish. We loved the selection of local cheeses at Charcutería.
Solomillo: two-storey brasserie, serving steaks. Open for lunch, Wed-Sat and dinner, Thu-Sat.
Patio terrace: poolside restaurant. Light bites, Mediterranean cuisine. Open daily, 10am-11pm.
