WHAT WE LOVE...

A stylish Victorian Townhouse set in the heart of Bath, ideal for exploring the historic city home to the Roman Baths, Thermae Spa, a host of boutiques and galleries and a much-celebrated foodie scene. Broad Street Townhouse offers a luxurious home-from-home, boasting eleven individually designed bedrooms, with a characterful café at the hub, transforming into a low-key cocktail/wine bar in the evenings. Owned by Butcombe Pub and Inns, the building has been sympathetically restored to its former 19th-centrury glory, providing modern luxury with a nod to its Georgian past. Next door is the Townhouse's lively sister pub, The Pig & Fiddle, where guests can enjoy seasonal pub classics and beers and ales from the Butcombe Brewery. Suited to couples and city-explorers, guests can sink into comfy rooms, with added luxuries.

The spacious superior room stole the show with its gorgeous heritage hues, sumptuous textiles and classic English furnishings. The huge roll-top bath was the icing on the cake - and the perfect antidote to a day exploring the city.

Food & Drink

There's only one way to start the day - classic avocado on sourdough toast with free-range eggs, chilli and honey, washed down with a berry smoothie. We were impressed with the catch-of-the-day in a spiced bean and calamari cassoulet.

Café: pastries, salads, sandwiches and light bites. All-day menu, open daily.
The Pig & Fiddle: traditional pub (sister venue next door). Hearty fare, seasonal dishes. Open daily, 12-11pm. Mains from £12.50.
