WHAT WE LOVE...

Formerly home to the Royal Scottish Automobile Club, the Monte Carlo Rally starting line was at this elegant row of Georgian townhouses overlooking the Blythswood Square gardens - a winning pedigree from the off. Capitalising on grand proportions in quirky, confidently-contemporary style, you'll find bold colours, chic marble floors and bronze capped Corinthian columns, along with a grand piano loitering in one corner of reception; bicycles to borrow are at the other. The bar and restaurant - soaked in sunlight by day, laid-back by night - serves up cocktails, killer tunes and first-class Scottish seafood. Move upstairs and classy calm prevails, from the elegant residents' lounge to well-appointed bedrooms in a sophisticated palette of soothing shades of grey where luxurious bathrooms come as standard.

Style & Character

Perfect for those who consider their hotel at least as important as their destination (if not more so) when planning their holiday. Who could resist scrubbing up to make an entrance down the grand main stair lit by an outrageous long-drop crystal chandelier?

Food & Drink

The Mediterranean blue shell-shaped tiles on the bar were like the scales on a glamorous mermaid's tail. We recommend the well-cooked scallops and meltingly tender pork belly, with the bright zing of fresh green apple.
