WHAT WE LOVE...

A 19th-century mock Tudor house sits at the centre of this estate, with a golf course, clubhouse and large pond surrounding it. The property, which was once the countryside bolthole of Ian Gillan from Deep Purple, is a stunning, chic eight-room hotel with a spa and 18 holes to play. Self-catering options abound, too, with one and two-bedroom lodges to book for a more flexible stay - some even have private hot tubs.

Set in the gorgeous south Oxfordshire countryside, expect excellent walks on your doorstep and lovely local market towns. Come here for golfing, pampering or to simply escape the chaos of the outside world, as once you step into The Springs, everything feels just that little bit more relaxed.

Style & Character

The hotel's suites are great for couples, while families will love the lodges by the pond. The beautiful, raw wooden beams and pillars in the vaulted restaurant and bar area offer a rustic chic appeal.

Service & Facilities

We love that manicures and pedicures come with a glass of bubbly for an extra bit of pampering.

Food & Drink

The steaks were perfectly cooked and the chef treated us to a bonus jus, not on the menu, which made it even more delectable. The classic sticky toffee pudding was just sweet enough too, and came with an excellent ice cream on the side.

The Ridgeway Restaurant: bistro-style menu of British and European classics, sandwiches, snacks. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Mains from £11.50
