WHAT WE LOVE...

A handsome thatched manor house in a remote village of the West Oxfordshire countryside, Artist Residence is a gorgeous hideaway with plenty of rural appeal. Sitting on the edge of the Cotswolds, it's the perfect base for walking holidays or just an escape from city life. Its eccentric interiors, peppered with one-off artworks and vintage furniture pieces, offer a cosy but cool vibe while the restaurant serves excellent comfort food all day and night. Breakfasts are a real feast, with bloody marys and mimosas for those special occasions or why-not days, and the Sunday roasts are spectacular. Come in summer to relax in the garden terrace on sunny afternoons, or settle in by a roaring fire on a chilly winter's day to play boardgames in the bar.

Style & Character

It's got a relaxed atmosphere but is still upscale - this place is perfect for couples seeking a little romance in a cosy countryside inn. We love the roaring log fire in the bar area where you can while away a few warm hours sampling cocktails, local beers and gins, or playing rounds of Scrabble.

Service & Facilities

Dogs get a good fuss and a biscuit when you're dining in the bar, and there's always a bowl of water on hand. There are six dog-friendly rooms and pets are charged at £15 per night per dog. They'll get a bed, bowl and Lily's Kitchen dog treats in the room.
