WHAT WE LOVE...

Tucked away from the hubbub of the Bicester Village shopping complex nearby, this chic hotel is an ideal retreat after a day's retail therapy. With fun, bold décor and big bedrooms with garden views, there's lots to love here. The hotel's brasserie serves up solid comfort food - think pastas, burgers and steaks - while breakfast is a cooked-to-order affair. With its own vast events space, the property is an excellent option for weddings or corporate gatherings, and its manicured lawns the perfect backdrop for wedding or special occasion photos. It's just a five-minute drive from the shops (or a 30-minute walk across fields), and it's a short hop in the car to the likes of Woodstock and Blenheim Palace in the Cotswolds.

Style & Character

Sophistication is the game here so this hotel is great for business travellers, couples seeking a romantic night away or friends on shopping trips to nearby Bicester Village. The sausage dog lamp stands that are ubiquitous throughout the hotel help show the property's quirky personality.

Rooms

We stayed in room 15 (Deluxe), the largest in the hotel, which has views over the garden and water features and an excellent, powerful rainfall shower. The huge mirror - with a nearby mains plug - is ideal for post-shopping fashion shows or getting ready for a night out or event.

Food & Drink

The breakfast menu features eggs in every way - we had ours scrambled with smoked salmon. The lobster and crab tortellini was a seafood triumph, with a moreish, creamy Champagne sauce.

Brasserie: Locally sourced ingredients, classic cuisine. Open daily, all day menu and daily afternoon tea (12-5pm); Sunday roasts.
