WHAT WE LOVE...

With breathtaking views of both the Simonside and Cheviot Hills in north Northumberland, this farmhouse bed and breakfast will soothe any stressed-out souls. The traditional stone farmhouse, a couple of miles outside Rothbury and on a working sheep farm, belongs to Ann and John Foggin; both of farming families, with the b&b side amiably and efficiently run by Ann. The spacious bedrooms - some in the farmhouse, some in a barn conversion - are luxuriously furnished with top quality fabrics and feature wallpapers in the country house style. Two guest sitting rooms, plus a courtyard garden, give plenty of space for everyone. Ann's cooked-to-order breakfasts are deservedly award winning, and may make it tricky to leave the table and get out for the day.
