WHAT WE LOVE...

Within striking distance of the fun and high jinks of Scarborough's seaside resort but away from its noise and bustle, Ox Pasture Hall is an unexpected little country house find. A firm favourite with regulars, who come as much for its highly regarded food as its peace, the former Victorian farmhouse retains a cottagey feel but with a modest country-house style. Many of the bedrooms are pleasantly set around two courtyards some with views over the surrounding woods and fields. Apart from the food and the friendly staff, the spa with luxury spa suites and the pretty English gardens are the hotel's biggest assets, which provide plenty of quiet places to read or enjoy afternoon tea. Dogs are very welcome, too.

Style & Character

While the pretty gardens make it popular for weddings, this hotel really suits those who want a quiet retreat, with good food and service and an easy drive to the seaside. After a day exploring Scarborough's busy seafront and the steep climb up to the castle, it was lovely to be able to quickly return to the slower pace and peace of the hotel.

Service & Facilities

The gardens are a delight to discover with gazebos, rose-covered pergolas, little stone seats and quiet corners. The staff go out of their way to make sure guests are happy and comfortable.
