Hotel Review
Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, Netherlands
Adjacent to the oldest canal in Amsterdam, this hotel right in the heart of the city centre offers unbridled luxury against an historic backdrop, the building having been everything from a monastery to Amsterdam's City Hall since it was built in 1587. Hotel guests can choose between a fine dining and a casual restaurant, several bar areas, a luxurious gym and a state-of-the-art fitness centre. It has bright and spacious guest rooms with five-star amenities including Nespresso machines, large flatscreen TVs and 24-hour room service. From entering via a courtyard just off the canalside, coupled with its secluded garden and quiet lounges, it is a welcome retreat from the hectic city.
