WHAT WE LOVE...

Having trained in London under the likes of Gordon Ramsay, local chef and foodie hero Matt Sworder moved back to Minster to launch his own restaurant, The Corner House. His deep-rooted passion for Kent shines through in every part of the restaurant and the two bedrooms. Paintings of local scenery dot the walls, Kentish beers are on tap and the seasonal menu celebrates the best of the region.

THE DETAILS

Location

Minster is a charming village less than ten minutes' drive from the sea. It's home to the country's only functioning Benedictine monastery, and is ideally placed to explore the coast.

The Corner House is a short stroll from Minster Abbey and the town's shops and cafés. Ramsgate and Sandwich are also nearby.
By car: The hotel is a 15-minute drive from Ramsgate, half an hour from Dover or Canterbury and 2 hours 15 minutes from London. There is free parking for guests.
By train: London Charing Cross to Minster takes 2 hours. The station is a short walk from the hotel. thetrainline.com

Style & Character

The hotel is perfect for travellers looking to explore East Kent's coastline, who love their food and want to lose themselves in the peace and quiet of the countryside. You'll arrive to the scent and warmth of the log fire and debate, over a local tipple, whether to hit the beach, explore Minster or simply sink deeper into the sofa.

Service & Facilities

Despite the excellent food, the Corner House is totally unpretentious, and the staff seem genuinely
invested in your happiness. We love that water and freshly-baked bread is brought to your table without being prompted.
