Seabreeze Lodge has attentive hosts and a welcoming ambience. Rooms and suites are clean-lined with a white and neutral palette peppered with touches of blue and maroon, and come with thoughful amenities including freshly ground coffee, fresh milk, complimentary snacks, an iron and ironing board. Pick a suite with a view over Galway Bay and a private balcony to enjoy some peace and tranquillity. In the mornings you can expect a fulsome Irish breakfast as well as freshly baked croissants and homemade bread, served in the natural light-flooded conservatory-style breakfast room. If you're driving then the free off street parking is a plus.

Minutes away by car is O'Connor's Famous Pub which opened in 1942, so has a historical air and quirky décor, as well as live music.

The hotel is nestled on the shores of Galway Bay and the hotel runs tours to the Cliffs of Moher and the Arran Islands.
By plane: flights from Birmingham and Edinburgh take 1 hour 15 minutes, and 1 hour 30 minutes from London to Shannon. It's over an hour's drive to the hotel. Free parking on-site. skyscanner.net

The hotel is perfect for both solo travellers and couples alike, or anyone who likes to be beside the seaside. Having breakfast in the conservatory-style room looking out the large windows to the green garden starts the day off well.

We stayed in the Executive Suite. The private balcony looking out to the sea was lovely to sit in, coffee in hand, first thing in the morning.

The fried spiced baby potatoes with smoked ham and onion was tasty and not much beats good homemade bread - so that went down a treat!

Breakfast room: conservatory-style dining room, serving continental options as well as a traditional Irish breakfast. Cooked options include oatmeal, eggs to order and French toast. Served daily.
