Hotel Review
The Shelbourne, Dublin, Ireland
This is Dublin's grand dame - the city's oldest and most historic hotel, located in the city centre beside St Stephen's Green. It is a luxury five-star with top-notch service and everything from a ballroom to a swimming pool, and it is also a buzzing social hub and a traditional meeting location for Dublin society. There are three bars and two restaurants, plus an outdoor terrace in summer. The hotel is full of history; it first opened in 1824 and it is where the Irish constitution was drafted in 1922. Many of the historic public rooms on the ground and first floor have high ceilings, chandeliers, art and views over to St Stephen's Green and this carries forward to some of the historic rooms and suites in the old part of the hotel.
