WHAT WE LOVE...

A boutique country house hotel with a seasonally heated outdoor pool and pretty garden right by the airport in Guernsey. The 14 luxurious rooms come with decanters of port, Sky TV and bathrooms have underfloor heating. Food is excellent, whether you come in winter and dine inside in the cosy restaurant with its roaring fire, or in summer when tables spill out onto the terrace (you can also opt for a private tête-à-tête in the gazebo). Cuisine has a global influence with dim sum and enchiladas alongside more classic dishes such as scotch egg and fish and chips. Hire a bike from reception, pick up a cool box, order a packed lunch and head out to explore the island.
