WHAT WE LOVE...

Located on a private peninsula next to sister hotels Porto Elounda and Elounda Mare (whose facilities can also be used) this luxurious hotel is near the bars, restaurants and boutiques of charming Agios Nikolaos and the small village of Elounda. Enjoying lovely sea views, its plush, spacious suites each boast their own private saltwater pool. There are ten restaurants and bars to choose from between the three hotels, as well as tennis, golf, football, numerous watersports and a kids' club. There's a big Six Senses spa too, and relaxing private beach areas.

THE DETAILS

Location

We enjoyed watching the world go by at a bar or strolling around the boutiques at Agios Nikolaos.

Visit the village of Elounda (5 minutes away) or take a boat to Spinalonga island, which is now abandoned.
By plane: flights from London to Heraklion take around 4 hours. It's an hour's drive from the airport. Free on-site parking. skyscanner.net

There's a great choice of restaurants, although Sumosan would be first choice every time. The 24-hour miso-marinated black cod at Sumosan is absolutely delicious and goes excellently with vegetable fried rice.

Sumosan: Japanese cuisine, sushi and sashimi. Open for dinner.
Il Borro: Tuscan bistro restaurant. Dishes include pizza, baby octopus and Tuscan T-bone. Open for lunch and dinner.
Calypso: à la carte breakfast served daily, 7:30-10:30am.
