WHAT WE LOVE...

Opened in October 2021 after nine years in the making, Hôtel Madame Rêve is set inside a monumental 1st arrondissement post office built on rue du Louvre in 1888. While letters, telegrams and stationery provide a gentle theming, it is the plush and elegant interiors designed by owner Laurent Taïeb using warm golds and browns that steal the show. Whether it's sipping a signature Lady Rose champagne cocktail in the grand Café, savouring sole tempura in the Japanese La Plume restaurant or snuggling up in an atelier-style guest room with sloping windows, this five-star sanctuary delivers the luxury goods. Add in a super-central location and a tree-filled roof garden with panoramic views and you have one of the best new addresses in town.

Style & Character

Shoppers, foodies, culture vultures and fans of luxurious design hotels will enjoy it here. The bars and restaurants are popular with creatives from the worlds of film, fashion and art. We loved the palette of warm colours - gold, honey, copper, mustard, bronze - set off by black metal, patterned woods and subdued lighting.

Service & Facilities

There's a serene 'espace bien-être' on the first floor with two treatments rooms, a sauna and a small fitness centre.

Rooms

With their sloping windows overlooking the rooftops, the Deluxe Rooms joyously sing 'I'm in Paris!'. In summer, consider the Garden View rooms with an outdoor area. Mail-themed artworks, floor rugs designed like a telegram and smart Madame Rêve stationery reference the building's former life and add a light-hearted tone.

Facilities include: ensuite bathroom with toiletries, air conditioning, desk, TV, mini bar, free Wi-Fi

Food & Drink

At night, La Plume has a lovely view of the lit-up Sainte-Eustache church, then at breakfast you get a wider panorama across the rooftops of central Paris. We recommend the sea bream sashimi and wagyu beef tataki at La Plume, capped off by a 2000 Feuilles pastry by star chef Pierre Hermé.

La Plume: rooftop restaurant and terrace, Japanese cuisine. Open daily for lunch and dinner.
Madame Rêve Café: Mediterranean cuisine, dishes include pork belly and gnocchi. All-day dining, open daily.
