Hotel Review
Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, Dubrovnik, Croatia
Built into a slope rising from Lapad Bay and framed by the pine forests of Pletka Hill above, Hotel Dubrovnik Palace suits its majestic position beautifully. This five-star hotel dating from 1972 really is a waterside palace, with all of its 308 rooms featuring balconies with views of the Adriatic Sea. Everything maximises those marvellous west-facing vistas, from the two outdoor pools and rocky beach to the indoor pool and all three of its restaurants. With so much to do - tennis, dive centre, spa, jogging trails on Pletka Hill - it's tempting to make just the occasional foray into town. It's peaceful here on the south-western tip of Lapad peninsula, yet the hotel is on a bus route to the Old Town three miles away.
