Hotel Review
Court House Manor, Painswick, Cotswolds
You'll either love or hate the kooky décor and layout of this luxury manor house-slash-B&B. The 16th century building is gorgeous, with honey-hued Cotswold stone and pretty gardens with a lovely cast stone balustrade, although there isn't such a smooth flow between the historical building and the interiors. Within, you'll find a warren of rooms with soft velvet sofas, gilded mirrors and leather upholstery with glitzy chandeliers. It serves as both a B&B and a private property for exclusive hire. The facilities vary enormously between the B&B offering (access to the rooms and living area only) and the exclusive hire, when the whole building morphs into a private home, complete with dining room, lounges, games room, swimming pool and gym.

Food & Drink
Staff wear different hats - you'll find them in the kitchen and serving at tables at mealtimes, and dealing with paperwork at check-in and check-out time. The starter of baked camembert served with warm baguette teased our tastebuds and hit the spot.
Kensington Bar & Restaurant: Bistro dining, dishes include grilled chicken breast and pea and parmesan risotto. Mains from £13.50.
